This project was for the internal & external decorations to all windows, masonry and rainwater goods throughout this grade II listed 17th Century building.
Works Completed:
External:
Timber Windows: the windows were first repaired using a repaircare system with any damaged putty replaced prior to stripping back damaged paintwork, priming, undercoat and top coating using a flexible satin with UV protection qualities for extended longevity.
Masonry: repairs were carried out using an exterior filler prior to decoration using a mineral based breathable sol silicate masonry.
Metalwork: all rainwater goods were cleaned out, sanded to remove any loose paint and treated with self priming smooth metal in sage green.
The railings that surround the building had to be taken back to bare using a copper brush angle grinder prior to treatment with the above metal paint system.
Internal Work:
Windows: All the internal sash windows were repaired where needed and then fully coated with an oil based satin for a seamless finish.
The main challenge to this project was navigating the access. Due to a the age and conservation of the building fixed scaffold was not an option due to limitations to tieing in the scaffold and the various slopes around the building. Due to the slopes and spaces where we needed to work, powered access was also not an option. We overcame this through the use of adjustable mobile towers to access the at height work.
An incredibly enjoyable job to be part of and a happy client.
